A lasting Legacy |

The first Fjord that I purchased was the stallion, BDF Kanada King, who would remain my favorite until his untimely death. He was evaluated with a Blue at age 3, and then went into dressage, and later, driving. King was training 4 th level dressage at the time of his death, and at 3 rd level, was in the top 5% all breeds, winning many ribbons in the USDF Division 6 Regional Championships. At age 8, he started driving. He excelled at Combined Driving, and at his 1 st show, The Laurels at Landhope, he received a 33% in dressage and went on to finish 2nd overall. At the Garden State of New Jersey, he was 1 st overall. | |
| Shortly after that, he became ill, and I lost him 4 months later. But not before I received a letter from the USET informing me that he was longlisted for the next Pony Championships. Because of being a performance horse, King was bred limitedly. Of his 10 sons and daughters, 3 evaluated Blue, 3 evaluated Red, and his youngest, Karolina King, will be evaluated, hopefully, this year. Of these offspring, Peppertree's Arne (evaluated Blue and Grand Champion at Blue Earth) went on to be an outstanding Pony Club eventing horse, Peppertree's Christina (evaluated Red) remained with me, and she has become an outstanding Combined Driving Pony. pedigree for BDF Kanda King |

Following in her sires footsteps, at her first show, The Laurels at Landhope, Christina placed 2 nd , beating the girl that took the Gold Medal at the World Pony Championships the previous year. Quite an accomplishment! Due to my having surgery, Christina has been off for 6 months, but we are now pursuing our goals again. Peppertree Farms Karolina King was in his first dressage showMay 2008, Dressage in the Sandhills at Pinehurst, placing 2 nd out of 13 at first level Test 4 with a score of 64.40%. He has started training in eventing, and loves to jump. He sired a GORGEOUS COLT this spring that you can see on this website. This is the foundation of Peppertree Fjords. |
